Hours of product footage exist, and nobody has time to edit it

The launch is scheduled, the product has been shot, but the material is still raw on a card. Every week of delay costs momentum that does not come back.

Why this happens

It is almost never a matter of effort. These are the patterns we keep running into.

Editing is always the last job

Shooting feels like the real work and editing like leftovers. Yet editing is what decides whether the material is usable at all.

One version for every channel

A video made for the site gets forced into social and ads, though the duration, aspect ratio, and way of grabbing attention all differ.

Old material cannot be reused

Raw footage was never named or organised, so finding one clip from last year takes longer than shooting it again.

How we fix it

  1. 01

    One production, many outputs

From one set of material we cut a site version, a vertical social version, and a short ad version, each edited for where it will play.

  2. 02

An opening that works without sound

Most people watch the first seconds without sound. The opening and on screen text are built so the message lands even muted.

  3. 03

    Footage organised for reuse

Raw material is named and grouped at handover, so the next production can use it without reshooting.

  4. 04

Ready to publish, not ready for more work

Outputs arrive in the sizes and formats each channel wants, including captioned versions where needed.

Case study

Household goods brand

Situation

Shooting finished three weeks before launch, but editing never started because nobody owned it. The launch date slipped twice.

What we built

The existing material was cut into a set of outputs for the product page, social, and ads, each with an opening that works muted, then the raw footage was organised and handed back.

Result

  • The launch held its final scheduled date
  • Each channel received a version that suits it
  • Raw footage became reusable for later productions
  • Nothing needed re-editing after publishing

Questions we get asked

Our footage was shot on a phone. Is that enough?

Often it is, especially for social. What matters more is usually lighting and stability rather than the camera. We look at the material first and tell you what needs reshooting before work starts.

We have no footage at all.

If the product can travel or the location is reachable, shooting can be part of the scope. What needs discussing up front is product count and location, because those drive the schedule most.

Can we use any music?

No, and this matters. Music has to be licensed for commercial use, because social channels and ad platforms can take down or restrict infringing material. We use licensed tracks and hand over the proof.

How long from material to publishing?

Once the material is complete and the editing direction is agreed, the process is fairly predictable. What usually slows it down is material that turns out to be missing midway, which is why we check completeness first.
