The queue grows outside while three tables sit empty inside

In an all you can eat restaurant the table is the product. Yet who sits where, for how long, and which one frees up next lives only in the head of whichever captain is on shift.

Why this happens

It is almost never a matter of effort. These are the patterns we keep running into.

Timers are tracked on paper

Start times are written by hand on a slip or whiteboard. When it gets busy the writing falls behind, and guests complain their time was cut short.

Nobody sees the whole floor

The captain knows their section, the till knows who paid, the kitchen knows who ordered. No single view shows the whole floor at once.

Large groups get turned away though they would fit

Combining tables needs a quick calculation nobody has time for at peak, so groups are turned away even when a workable combination exists.

How we fix it

  1. 01

Timers start themselves when a table opens

Start time is captured when the table opens, and remaining time shows on the floor screen and the guest's slip. No more arguments about when it began.

  2. 02

One screen for the whole floor

Every table's state is visible at once: free, seated, nearly out of time, or waiting to be cleared. Captain and cashier look at the same picture.

  3. 03

    Seating suggestions for groups

Enter a party size and the system suggests the table or combination that fits and frees up soonest.

  4. 04

    Several outlets in one view

Management can see occupancy and table turnover across every branch without calling each one.

What it looks like

A picture of the screen you would work in, not an illustration.

What this screen shows

  • Rombongan 7 orang
  • Saran: B3
  • Alternatif: A3 + B1
  • Antrean

Case study

All you can eat restaurant

Situation

Three outlets tracked timers on paper. At dinner peak, long queues coincided with tables already empty but not yet reported by the captain.

What we built

The floor plan became a single screen with automatic per table timers, a cleaning state, group seating suggestions, and a cross outlet occupancy view for management.

Result

  • Empty tables show the moment guests leave
  • Disputes about remaining time largely disappeared
  • Large groups get seated through table combinations
  • Occupancy per outlet is comparable by hour

Questions we get asked

Can it connect to our existing till?

Yes if your till exposes a way to read and write transactions. If not, the till side can be built as well so tables, orders, and payment share one flow.

Guests often ask to extend their time.

An extension is recorded as its own action with a reason and an approver, so giving extra time stays visible policy rather than a quiet habit.

Our floor plan is irregular.

The plan is laid out to match your actual room, including which tables can be joined and which cannot. What matters is accuracy, not a tidy diagram.

What if power or internet drops at peak?

Timers and table states keep running on the devices in the outlet, then resync once the connection returns. Only the head office cross outlet view is delayed.
